Point of Information: For all supposed “networking” and “socializing” – we are a dedicated group and the work is ongoing. This is a flat organization with no officers, meaning that all committee members are equally active and committed to the mission of this association. The role of the committee is to provide leadership (strategic direction, goals, program focus), guide and support it’s staff, and assist with the planning and execution of NorCAN events. Commitment from committee members consists of two year terms and an expected time commitment between 6 – 10 hours a month, which includes the attendance of all monthly steering committee meetings and luncheon/special events.
Criteria and Process for Choosing Committee Members: Applications will be screened and new members will be chosen by the current Steering Committee Members. Criteria includes:
- Availability of the applicant and
- Increasing diversity in the areas of skill, field of interest, geographic representation, sector representation, spheres of influence and demographics.
- One year of NorCAN membership prior to apply for committee
- New Steering Committee Members Applications may be submitted starting every December for service the following two years.
